Several times a week, 16 snow cannon’s fire cooled water into the air, chilled to -4°c to make real snowfall, the 1500 tonnes of snow are groomed overnight to keep the piste perfect!
The slope is housed in a giant freezer with a ground temperature of -12°c and air temperature of up to -4°c.
Our slopes are similar to a blue run in Europe.
Within the resort is our newly refurbished Bar Varia, which has cosy couches, woodburning stove, wi-fi connection and a gourmet coffee and cake menu. Bar Varia overlooks the slope so your guests can watch you learning from the comfort of the bar.

Snow Factor gift vouchers can be bought onsite, over the telephone or online and are valid for 6 months from purchase date. They can be used for any slope activity, in Bar Varia or for our range of merchandise on and off slope.
All the businesses within Xscape are independent, however if you are coming along in a group we can organise several activities for you. Just give our team a call.
All hardware (ski’s, poles, snowboards, ski/board boots, helmets and sledges) are provided FREE. You are welcome to use your own ski/snowboard kit. Bu unfortunately you are not permitted to use your own sledge - its for your own safety.
You need to wear warm waterproof clothing including gloves. Wellingtons are recommended for sledging activities. An outfit of jacket and salopettes costs from £5.50 to hire, Wellie’s from £3. Gloves cannot be hired for hygiene reasons but can be purchased on site.
There are changing rooms, showers, toilets & lockers (£1 non-refundable)
We recommend that you arrive 45 minutes before to make sure that you are checked in, changed and ready to begin your activity on time.
Go to our main reception desk to collect your slope passes, then get your clothing and get changed. Next collect boots/equipment and once kitted up go to the lesson or sledging meeting points, or main slope pass holders can get on the slopes at their specified time.
You can if you fill in a disclaimer form when you arrive to check in. All that we ask is that you try and photograph only the people in your party.

Yes but only in a family private lesson, our normal group lessons are taught in age bands (3-6yrs, 7-10yrs, 11-15ys and 16+) as this assists learning.
You must be able to control speed, confidently link turns and use the poma lift to go on the main slope (otherwise you need lessons.
Usually first thing in the morning or late in the evening and weekdays during term time are the quietest. We also offer special discounted sessions at key times.
