We reserve the right for employees to ask you to leave the slope if you do not abide to the details outlined below, in such cases no refund will be given.
BOOKINGS
We advise that you pre-book as slope time is subject to availability. You can book on site at the ticket desk, by calling 0871 222 5672 - (charged at national rate of 10p/min) or online via www.snowfactor.com. When booking through any of these channels, you will be asked for your mobile telephone number and email address. First and foremost, as an adventure sports centre, we think it’s important to know who our customers are, specifically in the event that there’s an accident. Secondly, we want to make sure you are given the opportunity to hear about our regular discounts and offers. If you don’t wish to receive these updates, please unsubscribe from the first email newsletter you receive and you’ll never hear from us again.
MAIN SLOPE USE
We require everyone who wishes to use the main slope to be of a minimum competency (recreational standard) unless attending a lesson and accompanied by a Snow Factor instructor. You should be able to control your speed, confidently link turns & use the poma/button lift. If you are unsure about your ability or have any questions regarding minimum standards please ask for advice before booking. You agree to being of this standard when purchasing a main slope pass and Snow Factor reserves the right to ask you to leave the slopes with no refund if you are deemed unable to meet the minimum standard. Any customer using the freestyle park jumps, rails & ramps or moguls does so entirely at their own risk. Snow Factor accept no responsibility for damage to equipment or clothing whilst undertaking these activities.
Peak/Off-Peak Pricing policy - Please note: If your visit overlaps between our off-peak and peaktimes your pass price will be reconciled accordingly and you will be charged at off-peak rates for the amount of time you are on the slopein off peakperiod andpeak rate for theamount of time you are on the slope in peakperiod.
TEACHING
To ensure the safety of all slope users, no-one other than our fully qualified Snow Factor instructors are permitted to teach or provide coaching on the dedicated lesson slope or main slope at any time.
Instruction, Coaching and Development at Snow Factor are provided by Snow Factor Training Ltd. Snow Factor Training was established to foster and develop access to winter sports. We do this in conjunction with our partners at BASI and DSUK. Our objectives include;
- To provide training and tuition to the public in relation to snow sports
- To foster and develop amongst the public skills in relation to snow sports
- To promote safety and awareness of snow and ice environments to the public
- To provide education to the public in relation to snow sports.
CLOTHING & EQUIPMENT
All instructed lessons include complimentary use of technical equipment required for your activity (skis & poles, snowboards, ski/board boots, sledges, tubes & helmets, subject to availability. NB: Ski/Board boots are not complimentary forsledging sessions). You are welcome to bring your own ski/snowboard equipment, however there is no discount on stated prices if you choose to use your own equipment. For safety & comfort helmets, gloves, full length trousers & long sleeve tops must be worn at all times on the slope. We advise that you wear waterproof jackets & trousers, which can be hired from our clothing rental department. For hygiene reasons gloves & socks are available to purchase only. Head protection (PPE UIAA Standard) is available by the Rental Desk & is required for all slope users. Helmets are compulsory for all people unless excused upon medical grounds. All customers on any activity, all freestyle & mogul users & anyone involved in any type of racing or race training must wear a proper ski/snowboard approved helmet. This must fit correctly & must be fastened at all times. We provide lockers (£1 non returnable) to store your personal items & valuables while you are on the slope. Snow Factor nor its employees or agents are responsible for any loss, theft or damage to valuables or personal property that belongs to any visitor whilst on Snow Factor premises.
CHILDREN
Junior rates are applicable to children under 16 yrs of age. 16 yrs & over are charged at adult rates. Snow Factor reserves the right to require proof of age.
All under 16’s must wear a helmet for all activities (available for free hire from our rental department) and must be accompanied by an adult at all times whilst on Snow Factor premises unless they are taking part in a supervised activity or are 10 -15yrs & meet minimum competency (recreational standard). This extends to children under 10 participating in lessons. Parents or guardians must remian on the premise for the duration of the lesson/ activity. Adults shall be held responsible for any damage caused by children they accompany whilst on Snow Factor premises. For safety, we recommend that children under 10 yrs using the main slope should be accompanied by an adult who is also competent to the agreed minimum standard for main slope use.
SPECTATORS / PHOTOGRAPHY / CCTV
There is NOT a dedicated spectator area on the slope but we advise all customers to spectate through the panoramic windows in the Bar Varia or on ourviewing deck(accessed through the bar) that gives you views outside above the slope. Our Link Bridge is restricted for use only by Skiers andSnowboarders, no spectators are allowed to walk or stand on the Link Bridge.Snow Factor accept no responsibility for spectators going onto the slope & reserve the right to ask any spectators to leave, Photographic, video & other recording equipment should not be taken onto the slope. Photography within the Snow Factor area is only permitted with prior consent – please ask a member of staff for details/permission. Please be advised we have CCTV throughout the centre for the purposes of crime prevention which complies with the Data Protection Act 1998. In addition, we may record your images for advertising & or marketing purposes. It is sometimes the case that third parties including the press record images of events at Snow Factor, in such circumstances notices will be displayed to advise customers of any filming / photography to be carried out where your image may appear.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS / REQUIREMENTS
If you have an existing medical condition which you think may affect your safety/ the safety of others on the slope and/or your ability to meet please seek proper medical advice before visiting Snow Factor. Please note that slope activities are not recommended for persons who have heart, back or neck conditions, or customers who are pregnant. In the absence of negligence or fraudulent misrepresentation, neither Snow Factor nor its employees/agents shall be responsible for the death, personal injury, illness of any customer or damage to equipment or clothing whilst on Snow Factor premises. For the safety of our customers, Snow Factor reserves the right to ask any customer to leave the slope if we believe them to be under the influence of drink or drugs, behaving irresponsibly or endangering other slope users. In such cases no refund will be given
SPECIAL EVENTS / SLOPE CLOSURES
Parts of the slope may be sectioned off at times for special events, sledging/ice slide or essential maintenance work. Please check before booking/arrival for up to date information on forthcoming activities or closures, details are also listed on our events page
