Disciplines:
Ski, Snowboard, Ice Climbing
I learned to fall badly on the Pow in Whistler. Loved getting bruised so much I wanted to show others how to accomplish the same. Seasons have always eluded me but I do love to get away when I can to enjoy some falling on my face in front of strangers.
Disciplines:
Ski, Snowboard, Freestyle Ski, Ski Racing
I learned to ski in France/Firpark Dryslope Tillicoutry. Raced until I left school then realised the freestyle scene was much more interesting. I enjoy seeing other achieve new skills and also wish to become involved in the British Freeski scene.
When I was younger I lived in Switzerland so I learned to ski on the Swiss slopes. After moving back to bonnie Scotland, I attended every school ski trip on offer.
I first started skiing at Cairngorm age 2, I then spent much of my younger life ski racing on the dry matt at Bearden . I tried snowboarding when I was 18. I was rubbish. Mainly because I was self taught initially. It made me really appreciate how important lessons are; for safely and for skill! Lessons also help you progress faster, so it took me a long time to get the hang of snowboarding, but I persevered and completed BASI level 1 qualification.
I totally love snowboarding and teaching and I’m currently working towards my ISIA qualification.
I’ve done 3 seasons, 2 in France (Meribel and Ste Foy) and one in New Zealand. I’ve also done a fair few seasons in Scotland! Scotland is the best place to shred!
I learned to Ski at Cairngorm Mountain when I was 3 years old. I then continued to ski there and started training with Cairngorm Ski Club when I was 11. I became an Instructor in 2011 while doing my degree. Iove the sport and became an instructor to help people enjoy it as much as me - also - I like to talk! I have also trained to be an adaptive instructor and I am one of the Race Coaches for Snow Factors Race Team.
I learned on the dry slope at Bellahouston. I wanted to become an instructor because I was hooked but couldn’t afford to snowboard at the time! I have done seasons in France, Austria and Japan and worked as a Chalet host in France and for a ski school in Japan.
I learned to ski in Glencoe, my father took me up to the top of the mountain and said “Son, you will either learn to ski bu the bottom or I will need to make a new son.”
I became an instructor to ensure other people do not have to learn the way I did.
I watched Cool Runnings as a child and I loved it. I asked my mum if I could do bobsleigh and she said yes. She signed me up for skiing by accident and here I am today. I never got to meet John Candy - one of life’s greatest tragedies.
I learned to ski on a hill on the farm my dad lived at when I was a child. I furthered my ski education with a local Adventure Club, with trips to Glencoe, Glenshee, and Nevis Range. The instructors on these trips inspired me, this was when I decided that I wanted to become an outdoor sports instructor. To accomplish this, I enjoyed 7 seasons at Cairngorm before coming to work with Snow Factor.
Learned in the beautiful mountains of Germany where we would ski in perfect formation, in matching Lycra before briefly stopping for a schnitzel or currywurst. i became an instructor because I enjoy being in charge and ordering people about 😉
I learned to ski in my Grandparents back garden and in the Cairngorms when I was a tiny tot. My Dad put up with my tantrums until I was seven when I went to ski school for the first time in France. I became a ski instructor to improve my own abilities but mostly to allow other people to experience and appreciate the freedom of the mountains and pow.
I have been skiing for 32 years and began snowboarding 2 years ago. I have skied in over 200 resorts in 10 different countries and on three continents. I enjoy skiing because it totally absorbs mind body and soul - you are always learning new things as well as learning new things as well as learning about yourself.
I first started teaching in 1991 and have taught in ski schools in Austria, France, Italy, Scotland and England.
I am a keen cross country skier and enjoy ice skating, hillwalking and mountain biking. It is an ambition of mine to gain my instructor qualification.
