Did you know 83% of people only visit a resort once! say the New York Times. Steep slopes, intimidating runs, rocky / icy terrain all impede the fun for people who lack confidence at the resorts.
While we can’t guarantee that the conditions at the resorts will be as perfect as here at Snow Factor, we can help you prepare for the common impediments to your fun at the resorts.
The biggest factor in improving your enjoyment and safety is lessons. We can quickly improve your technique and give you some immediate pointers to improve your time on the slopes.
If its been a while since you last had a lesson, and you may be a bit nervous of what to expect, come along to Snow Factor for a relaxing, informal and fun refresher clinic.
WHAT IS INVOLVED
A one hour coached sessionwith one of our professional instructors will address areas that can be immediately improved giving you improved skills and enjoyment before you head outdoors.

I learnt to snowboard in Canada, at Big White Ski Resort. I became an instructor because I loved the sport, and wanted to teach more people to show how fun a sport it is.
I have taught in Canada, Mt. Norquay for 5months. It was amazing!
I watched Cool Runnings as a child and I loved it. I asked my mum if I could do bobsleigh and she said yes. She signed me up for skiing by accident and here I am today. I never got to meet John Candy - one of life’s greatest tragedies.
I grew up in Aviemore where I learned to board. I spent two seasons in Canada where I was mistaken for Ryan Gosling on a regular basis. I am pretty sure I am his doppelganger.
I learned to board at Bearsden dry slope when I was 13 years old. I saw my mate’s big brother do a 360 off the jump and that did it for me. In slightly later life, I have done a season in Mayrhofen / Austria and would highly recommend the resort.
I learned to fall badly on the Pow in Whistler. Loved getting bruised so much I wanted to show others how to accomplish the same. Seasons have always eluded me but I do love to get away when I can to enjoy some falling on my face in front of strangers.
When I was younger I lived in Switzerland so I learned to ski on the Swiss slopes. After moving back to bonnie Scotland, I attended every school ski trip on offer.
Learned in the beautiful mountains of Germany where we would ski in perfect formation, in matching Lycra before briefly stopping for a schnitzel or currywurst. i became an instructor because I enjoy being in charge and ordering people about 😉
I learned to ski on a hill on the farm my dad lived at when I was a child. I furthered my ski education with a local Adventure Club, with trips to Glencoe, Glenshee, and Nevis Range. The instructors on these trips inspired me, this was when I decided that I wanted to become an outdoor sports instructor. To accomplish this, I enjoyed 7 seasons at Cairngorm before coming to work with Snow Factor.
I first tried to snowboard at age 13, braving gale force winds at my nearest mountain, The Lecht. Since then I have enjoyed riding the Alps across Europe and a few visits to North America and Canada. Having spent years working with young people as a playworker / carer, i decided to do my 1st instructor course - to combine my passion and experience in playing on a snowboard and people based work. What a laugh it is!
Born in the Highlands, I started skiing when I was three years old at Glenshee, and as I got older I started training in ski racing. When I turned eight I started snowboarding and fell in love with it.
After learning the basics of freestyle, I started competing in freestyle events - won some and lost some - but 16 years on, I am still here and one of the best freestyle snowboarders in the country. If you want to follow me on Instagram @AngusMalloch
I have been skiing for 32 years and began snowboarding 2 years ago. I have skied in over 200 resorts in 10 different countries and on three continents. I enjoy skiing because it totally absorbs mind body and soul - you are always learning new things as well as learning new things as well as learning about yourself.
I first started teaching in 1991 and have taught in ski schools in Austria, France, Italy, Scotland and England.
I am a keen cross country skier and enjoy ice skating, hillwalking and mountain biking. It is an ambition of mine to gain my instructor qualification.
